I am always looking to make more money online and recently purchased this and a few other books to help me do just that. This book really got me thinking and I came away with a lot of good ideas.
As far as details and a specific plan go, this is a good one, so if you are looking for something that says, “Step one, do this. Step two, do this. Step three, do this,” with very specific examples from the author and others, this would be a good match for you. It is also flexible enough that you will be able to use it on an existing website, if you already have a blog or something.
This book, in summary, is about how to be an “affiliate” and make money selling things for other people. It’s a pretty simple business, where you have somebody click on a special link, they buy from the person you send them to, and you get paid a referral fee. It’s not unlike referring somebody to a local business and having them give you a gift for the referral.
There are some people making big money doing this. Will this book get you to that level? Probably not. It’s a short book that can be read in just a few hours. It does have good information though and I do feel it’s a good start that will give you guidance to make extra money that you wouldn’t have had otherwise.
I recommend this book for beginner to intermediate people. If you can follow directions, you will be fine. The system is very clear, with exact steps to follow but not so rigid that everybody ends up with the exact same business when done. In other words, there is a good structure here that has some room for you to move around in. For example, if you have a certain hobby and want to make money within that hobby, this system in the book will allow you to do that.

If you’re looking for a to-the-point, no-nonsense, free-of-all-excess-fluff roadmap to making money online, this is it.
There are a lot of books out there on the topic of making money online, quitting your job and creating your “ideal lifestyle”, and having read a great majority of them, I can say with confidence that the Laptop Lifestyle combines all of the real, workable knowledge from the best of the bunch and presents it in an extremely easy-to-digest format. And it’s only the real work. No long, drawn out stories, no beating around the bush, no having to sit down to create a plan of attack from the advice being given – it’s all done for you.
This volume covers affiliate marketing, from introduction of the concept all the way through choosing the best affiliates, maximizing sales, writing effective sales letters, developing the best website, and my favorite, the power of free incentives, “tours” and courses. From page one you get all the nitty-gritty, and you are literally guided with clear, step-by-step instructions throughout the entire book. It really couldn’t be easier. If you’re looking for results, not just a feel-good, pie-in-the-sky book, this book’s for you. I can’t wait to dig into the next two volumes!

I just finished the first book of the series. Since I read a ton of books about internet business I assumed there wouldn’t be any new ideas, but I was wrong. I was really impressed when the author wrote about how to create a ‘tour’ to maximize your marketing.
This is not a get rich quick book. It doesn’t talk about becoming a millionaire over night by doing 3 simple things. Instead it details a process that can start to make you small amounts of money on the internet. Once you multiply the process, then you can make a living.
The book was very easy to read, and would be an excellent starting guide for someone new to internet business.

I really enjoyed Christopher King’s first “Laptop Lifestyle” book and am now very much looking forward to reading his two follow-up editions. I think this is a must read for anyone, whether rookie or seasoned veteran, that wants to learn all about affiliate sales and offers.
It’s easy to read, easy to understand and it’s obvious that King not only talks the talk but also walks the walk. I think his being a musician relates well to those of us like myself who are “right-brained” individuals. By outlining things in a sequential order King gives a road map on how to be a successful and effective affiliate marketer.
My opinion… buy this book if you want to learn a profitable step-by-step method from someone that actually is a successful super-affiliate. I’m recommending this book to everyone that asks me how/where to get started in Internet Marketing.
Now, I’m off to read King’s second book in the series. I’ll let you know what I think of that one in a few days.
