This is the Rise and Shine show’s contribution to Earth Hour earthhour.org It was composed and recorded for Rise and Shine riseandshine.tv between 26th and 28th March 2009. LYRICS I’m waiting on the end of a fishing line But there ain’t no fish in the sea I’m wishing this was a shady shoreline But the water’s higher this week It’s a struggle to feed my family Impossible to keep my home When people living in tall bright cities Keep their lights on It’s alright To turn out the light We can make it show that we care There’s a big wide world out there It’s a beautiful night – saving energy To turn out the light – we can be pollution-free And go green like this world has never seen People passing by on the city subway Mostly they they don’t notice me Their eyes on the prize, they’re so civilised With somewhere warm and dry to sleep SUV’s and swimming pools The air-conditioned second homes And everything is always on standby In case they want to switch it on It’s alright To turn out the light We can make it show that we care There’s a big wide world out there It’s a beautiful night – saving energy To turn out the light – we can be pollution-free And go green like this world has never seen
